Children's Check-in Back-up Plan
Since Fellowship One Check-in relies on both power and an Internet connection, there is always the potential for a technology failure. You should take some time to define the backup plan for instances where you cannot access Check-in. The main consideration is providing security for the children who will be attending the service.
Consider the following when making your plan:
- Print rosters on Thursday or Friday and make them available on Sunday morning to all class leaders/assistants.
- Have backup name tags and parent receipts available for use and at hand in case there is a problem. A good resource for this is ChurchNursery.com. Order some of the labels with Child Pick-Up Stubs so that you can maintain your security practices.
- Instruct class leaders/assistants to use their rosters to record attendance manually as children enter the classroom. Consider writing down the security code so that it can be easily verified when the parent returns to retrieve their child.
- Require class leaders/assistants to return the roster in at the end of service time to a specific person on staff. This person should be instructed to ensure all rosters are collected.
- Plan to use Post Attendance the following week to ensure attendance is accurate and current.
- PRACTICE! Make your volunteers completely comfortable moving to the back-up plan so that there is little disruption if technology should fail.
